13.5V 30A voeding bovenin
de m.f. achterzet is de IC706 146-148 MHz 27m rg58 (-6dB)
de controle via 8 pol CAT kabel

DB6NT XVTR + SPF5189 + PE1CMO 40W PA 20-1-2018

Mastkop  in plastic  doos 20x29x12  4,5  Action  grijs alu gespoten

daarin
XVTR de klasieker  DB6NT / DF9LN 1980
1152 X-tal trein  vervangen door externe PLL 1150MHz   DF9NP    schakelbaar 1150 of 1152  en -28MHz repeater shift
Heel stabiel standalone Taitien 10MHz TCXO
GasFet NE325 vervangen door SPF5043Z
Extra preamp eBay SPF5189  gemeten Heelweg 2018 n.f. 0.74dB 1296
0.45 432MHz  20dB gain

kabels
230V          3x 1.5mm 27m   tbv sm 13.5V 30A  bovenin de mast
CAT5          30m
RG58          30m   voor 146MHz i.f.

PA±  PE1CMO/ATV 2x M57762  rust stroom  1.5A
13.3V  TX  ca 10A  uitput ca 35W

EMD  Bliksem beveiliging
230 V            250V Surpressor
13.6  V          18V  surpressor

PCB teflon enkelzijdig 0.5mm inclusief Cu  0.035mm (aanname)

PTFE  Er =2.1
web calculator http://www.endmemo.com/physics/capacitor.php

https://www.microwaves101.com/calculators/1202-stripline-calculator

Z
https://www.eeweb.com/tools/microstrip-impedance
spoor 1.5mm   l 44mm       Z= 53.9     fase  1.296 GHz = 91.87 deg. 1270MHz 90deg.   11.85 Z
spoor 2.5mm   l 41.5       Z= 37.8

PE1CMO PCB met ratrace combiner in out

B.t.w.  the DB. QUERY    Unique does not consider  BAND.
That means   when a specific call sign is decoded in more bands, only the latest decode is shown in the resulting record  set.  Just wondered where are the other decodes?
Strange that i have not noticed this issue before il all the years of using WSPR!

F.i.  last night i was decoded by DP0GVN  IB65 Antarctica NeumeyerII base  13835km to south!
At 160m  80m and 60m  .
The propagation path was very good and with power down to 0.5Watts  -21dB
there was still still  7dB room  so even  100mWatt was possible!

But the WSPRnet.org database only showed the 60m decode at DP0GVN  since that was the last decode.

short opening just after dinner came in and saw the FT8 screen  28MHz is alive sometimes
and with FT8 this season  could be busy on 10 and 6 ...

My "WSPR Laptop"  Dell D420  that was running a few years 24-7  did not want to boot W7 anymore after i switched it off for a few months
The Battery was no longer detected by the system and the low battery lamp is blinking continuous.
It boots until the W7 flags start to wave  BT is activated then minutes nothing but HD flikkering  then the blue screen of death for split second and the cycle starts over again
I have no image of this system a big mistake.
With an USB bootable W7pro  version tried al possible repair actions  no result.
Chkdsk found no serious disk errors.
It is an OEM W7pro install no product key label on the PC
But the W7 Product key was found with  Produkey  prog
I thought to use this key for a new installation of W7
But this  registration key failed  although it was registered before.

I got a bit nervous about that this can happen anytime...
Now trying to make a recovery backup of this Laptop W7 Thinkpad i7
But the windows backup service was switched off  for unknown reason
I switched it on again for what reason would one switch this service off anyway??
But then the big struggle again with Windows backup
Instructions found on internet stopped at step 1
click on ...  non  existing etc etc
someone suggested Macrium software so i did ,a relief  a good and logical user interface woow!
Image is saved to a file i will use this  and forget Windows backup

Always walk on the bright side of life.
You can't  go outside but it is sunny behind the windows.

Talking about  Windows my sudden totally crashed Dell420 laptop seems lost.
Hat to new install W7 . The original rescued P-Key  was not accepted for registration.
And now the present installed W7 is total infected with Adware and malware after

trying    Autokms   do not try it is total malware !

SPF5189z Low noise preamp 23cm

low noise  preamp 50 - 4GHz    ebay  6€
This year tested a shielded SPF5189 type at Heelweg  0.73dB nf 23cm   0.45dB nf 70cm !
So this device is  good , but my preamp above draws high current at 5V  over 200mA!
Way more then the specified 90mA
I thought my SPF5189z must be wrong so i replaced it
But with the new SPF5189z  same  very high current practical short circuit
it could not run  at 5V

Had to reduce to 3V  with 3x Si diodes and a 1 OHm serial resistor.
The current still about 100mA   <3v ...="" p="">This way it was used for some time, the result at 1296MHz was real nice also high gain
Enough through gain for mast  XVTR over 30m RG58 at i.f. 146MHz
Daily copy  5 Beacons  GB3MHZ OZ7IGY ON0TB DB0VC DB0XY   PI7ALK
But i got some problem with bad joints in the short SMA to N  connections  in the Mast head  transverter and added a SWR bridge to monitor the TX out ant match over the control cable down in the shack.
Used an other SPF5189z preamp, a type with metal shield drawing correct 90 -100mA at 5V
Al seemed okay but 23cm had cracking noise in some directions like never ending  thunderstorm QRM  also the usual noise level at 146MHz  down was lower then before in low  QRM directions
A new experience could it be nearby high GSM signals 4G ?
The peamp has no signs of self oscillating. Antenna matching  1:1 fine
The antenna relay  okay so what could it be else then the preamp became bad?
Still receive Beacons but very much weaker then usual.
Got 5 spare  SPF5189z   one more  replace the SPF but  still  high current at 5V
Checking the Device specification PDF says just 5V 90mA simple.

With diode test the input shows 0.6V  barrier  reverse 1.4V
The output is just 0 OHm's  both way's of all 5 devices!

Then i tried with a second diodetester  reverse on the input with a small negative Voltage
Then the output Z  went  up from zero to a high value !
As if this SPF5189z would need a negative input bias Voltage.

So i made a smal negative voltage source adjustable and through a small choke coil applied it to the input gate of the SPF
And voila  smoothly the Supply current was adjusted to the wanted value.

Apologies for the strange cryptic parts in the text generated by HTML viewers that can not handle  combinations of sign characters3v>
<3v ...="" p="">
-1V  gave  40mA   and -0.65V  gave  90mA the would be current at 5V

Does this device still work was the next question.
A simple test showed that it does amplify I can let it self oscillate by touching the input wit a pincet
The RF detector at the output goes high.

Does it stil have low noise i do not know  i have to find out.
Next thing is making a small adjustable negative bias supply and modifying the preamp with a -bias connection a bit more rugged.3v>
<3v ...="" p="">I made a  small negative Voltage supply using the NE555  and another using 2 transistors as 1kHz  AC oscillator both work okay.3v>
<3v ...="" p="">But the whole thing is a bit more complicated tyhan with the original single rail 5V of course3v>
<3v ...="" p="">
3v>a nice example here
https://www.allaboutcircuits.com/projects/build-your-own-negative-voltage-generator/
<3v ...="" p="">
3v><3v ...="" p="">and with 2 transistors  a about 1 kHz AC generator to use with a 2 diode rectifier to make almost -5V out of +5V supply using 2 low drop diodes IN60  and the circuit as above3v>
<3v ...="" p=""> Below  an 2 transistor oscillator i used 100nF and  the buzz. replaced with 1k R3v>
<3v ...="" p="">Th collector output is connected to the negative rectifier circuit below  3v>
<3v ...="" p="">Image result for transistor oscillator circuit

3v>
<3v ...="" p="">
3v><3v ...="" p="">
3v><3v ...="" p="">So my SPF5189z   need  negative bias and i am the only Ham experiencing this?
Hard to believe  but no Google hits on the subject

                                                             40mA adjusted

3v>
                                                                  90mA  at - 0.64V bias

today ALL BANDS  are polluted with QRM  0 to 1300MHz

S5 Noise 28MHz S7 21 MHZ
whole spectrum is  30dB and higher noise plus carriers  digital smog
50MHz  30dB noise from the Solar EDGE broadband transmitter

AT  Dutch Telecom say it is within the legal limits
They could not even detect it on their mobile equipment
It is legal to make RF smog as long as the GSM traffic of  majority  is good enough

PYE PF2 UB

Found back my old  PYE PF2 UB    pocket  70cm portofoon  produced 1970 --75
Once used in our local DX  warning net  432.775  433.525 back in the  previous millennium  80 ties

Still worked after all the years.  Portofone  is huge compared with modern sets
0.5W - 0.8W  out

There is a PYE museum web-page  http://www.pyetelecomhistory.org/index.html
Interesting to look at the well  designed Technics inside
It comes from Cambridge so it is good beyond doubt ...

Extreme power / battery efficient   RX/standby  pulsing 1-2mA  duty cycle 10%  at 13.6V
The TX takes only 160mA  at  500mW out    in this point it beats most modern devices.
The Battery voltage is 15V   it can safely work on  motor bike or car power  voltage  13.6V  and plus

It  features an economizer circuit  that is using a pulsing  supply to  RX   duty cycle 10%
to check for incoming signals. Once a signal is detected the RX will be 100%

I know the old Icom IC2E 144 FM device  being also very power efficient   but this porto beat them all.
The RX is rather deaf  the UHF version has double helical filter at the input.
Using a  state of the art SPF5189z or similar this can be improved a lot but i keep it like it is
it is made for short distance communication .

I have 2 channels occupied
each channel need separate rx and a tx x-tal's   so  a repeater shift is possible
But who uses crystals nowadays
X-tals are made by Klove  marked TX 432775 PF2    RX 432775 PF2
I forgot when and where i got this PYE and how i got the X-tals  it must have been a project
at the time  these  PYE sets became obsolete and sold to HAMS

There is no SMD  but more compact vertical positioned PCB´s .
Soldered not plugged in.
My PF2 porto had a problem with oscillating 2nd   IF/ amplifier
120 pF  over R6 3k9   2nd IF cured the annoying squelch  tripping

crystals  for TX and RX Klove
